SFR-1 without ESC ?

I have a new SFR –1 that I plan on installing in my next build. I purchased it before I decided to go brushless. My question is will the unit get damaged if I tape off the motor leads and just use the lights and sound portion? I know I can get a USM, but I don’t want to spend more money when I have this new unit .

Hello felixs10,

you can use the SFR-1 without a motor connected to it.

If the brushless ESC has a BEC please ensure that you either disconnect that ESC or the one of the SFR-1 by pulling the red wire from the servo cable and insulating it.
